Japan
Okumas history starts with its founding in 1898 as a noodle machine manufacturer. The first machine tools were manufactured from 1904. More than a century after making the jump to manufacturing machine tools, Okuma’s state-of-the-art CNC products are used around the world to produce high-quality components for demanding industries such as aerospace and automotive.
The company played an important part in the development on the manufacturing industry and is the industry’s only single-source provider, manufacturing the CNC machine, drive, motor, encoder, spindle and CNC control.

Our global sales and service operations with local distributors around the world enable us to provide our customers with all the support they need – whenever, wherever. A wide network of partners helps us to keep defining the cutting-edge, from sophisticated automation to full-on smart factory management.

Europe
Okuma Europe GmbH (founded in 1988) is the European-based sales and service affiliation of Okuma Corporation, a world leader in CNC (computer numeric control) machine tools. Okuma’s innovative and reliable technology, paired with comprehensive, localised service protection, allows users to run continuously with confidence – maximising profitability. Along with its industry-leading distribution network, Okuma facilitates quality, productivity and efficiency, empowering the customer and enabling competitive advantage in todays demanding manufacturing environment.
Germany
In September 2019 Okuma Deutschland GmbH (former Hommel CNC-Technik GmbH) became the German branch of Okuma Corporation, therefore a full subsidiary of Okuma Europe GmbH.
With more than 40 years experience, the subsidiary, located in Cologne and its techcenters Langenau (Ulm) and Possendorf (near Dresden) organise and control the Germany-wide sales and service for Okuma machine tools.
Okuma's innovative and reliable technology in combination with comprehensive, regionally available service ensure safe, continuous and therefore highly profitable manufacturing processes for our customers.
With an industry-leading distribution network Okuma ensures quality, productivity as well as efficiency, resulting in a decisive advantage for our customers in today's demanding manufacturing world.
Benelux
Since the 1st of January 2020 Okuma Benelux B.V., after an exclusive corporation of 40 years, is a full subsidiary of the Okuma Europe GmbH. The 53 employees take care of the efficient operation of the new processes in Sales and Service in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Okuma Benelux B.V. has modern working areas and a showroom including machines of the latest technological developments. Training courses with a focus on machining technology take place here.
Furthermore Okuma Benelux B.V. is a Full-Service-Organisation: From the installation of the machines on site at the customer up to all services. "We strive for an almost perfect service for our machine users. The whole company handles it with great care" explains Tom Strijbos, CEO Okuma Benelux B.V.
Austria
Okuma Austria GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Okuma Europe GmbH. For more than 35 years, the company (formerly precisa CNC-Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH) has been responsible for the sale of Okuma CNC machine tools in Austria, based in Vienna. With the takeover of this strong partner at the beginning of 2024, it was possible to further expand sales and service activities and consistently adapt them to the increasing requirements of local customers. Standardised sales and service processes, including pre- and after-sales support, ensure even faster support and access to the latest technologies, solutions and expertise for maximum efficiency and performance for our customers.
Turkey
OTR Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Sti. was established in 2009 by Okuma Europe GmbH in Istanbul, and with its 40 employees, it provides service to Okuma customers in Turkey with machinery installation, commissioning, training and all kinds of technical service support. In addition, turnkey projects are successfully carried out by an experienced application team. All of its staff consists of experienced engineers and technicians who have received special training in Okuma. Mechanical and electronic engineers of the Technical Service are equipped with all kinds of special equipment, tools and measuring devices. In case of emergencies, faults are responded to as quickly as possible by trained engineers on the phone with the Emergency Service Hotline for 7 days and 24 hours.
